Live Edge Tables

I have made a couple tables using the trees from around the fairgrounds. I’ve cut some of the Silver Maple from Helen’s Stand into what are known as “cookies.” These slabs have been great for round tables. There is one that sits in front of Helen’s Stand each year in place of the tree that was removed. I do not make many tables, however I will have a few available at this years fair.

The trees used to make the live-edge tables have come from a couple trees around the fairgrounds. The main tree being used for these items is the large Silver Maple that grew in front of Helen’s Perogie Place on East Rhone Ave. Another unique tree being used is the Ash tree that stood outside the Recreation Building. This tree was damaged from ash borers which has made for unique live edge pieces. When using a live edge, you can see the trails the insect made that ultimately killed the trees.

The Live-Edge tables can be purchased at The Gallery Shop in Lemont.
They can also be purchased directly from me at the Grange Fair in August.
